Michael Schaffer -art of the contemplative-

“My paintings probably represent an entry into an imaginary room beyond the limits of reason and space/time experience, and they invite the viewer to follow into a realm of floating forms, colours and associations following a deepening consciousness of interdependent ideas. Espacially my paintings of “entities” occur without any patterns or intentions. This can be seen as an artist’s agreement to free intuition and creative imagination, as an imaginary/aesthetic reduction leading to the creation of universal or archetypical characters. It is the painter’s look into the essence or into the origins -behind the appearance. The results are pictures of a (spiritual) magnitude – as interim I would like to call it a kind of my (trans)personal elucidation of the Plotinian second hypostasis.”
